Long overdue update on GNOME 3 compatibility

Hi all, sorry for leaving everyone hanging for so long.  I’m still alive, but I haven’t been working on RabbitVCS much over the past several months and because of that, there hasn’t been much to say.  The good news is that I’ve just released nautilus-python 1.1, which adds pygobject 3 compatibility (needed for GNOME 3.2), and I’ve fixed some major bugs in the RabbitVCS Nautilus 3 extension, which gets it working pretty well for me in GNOME 3.0 and GNOME 3.2.  There is a good chance I’ll do a release soon, just to get GNOME 3.x working for all of you who have been patiently waiting.  This release might not have many other fixes or enhancements to speak about, but it will at least get things moving in the right direction.

Hope to get it working on Fedora 15 soon =). Love to hear that you will probably release a patch soon to fix the Nautilus and Gnome 3.x issues. I think such updates are much more appreciated by a lot of people and that new features can wait as RabbitVCS is already very complete compared to other similar packages. Keep it up!

This is great news. I’ve not had the chance to use RabbitVCS yet. General opinion from the net says it’s great, but previous git versions haven’t worked, and I’ve only recently learned about it. Just saw the update of nautilus-python in my package manager, and am excited.

Great news! I’ve been holding off on upgrading to Oneiric until this is resolved. And that is not meant as a complaint! Having the latest release is just nice (for me anyway), but it isn’t worth it without this quite superb tool. Thanks for all the time you put into it.

Oh, nice! I’ve been using the command line svn client, it works well, but it will be really nice to use this again.

Dude, we love your work! Life in 11.10 comes to a halt as we await your fix, we cannot live without it. Thanks for updating us on the current status of things, muchly appreciated.

RabbitVCS is one of the infrastructure things that is holding the whole company away from upgrading to 11.10. I wish you all the best and waiting for the update :)

What about now? When will you release an update… I am thinking of rolling back 32 installations (on the company I work for) of Oneiric Oncelot only to have Rabbitvcs working again…

  17. Sebastian says:

Felipe, rabbitvcs works on Oneiric Oncelot, but only in the terminal. You must go to the folder with cd, and then do: sudo rabbitvcs chekout ;)

  18. Quy Nguyen says:

Why do you have to type a very long command “sudo rabbitvcs chekout”?
“svn co” should do the same….
